I just tried a RF 2x extender and, RF-EF adapter and a EF 75-300 lens and the Rx Extender won't attach with the adapter. Looks like I would also need a 2x Extender III or 1.4x Extender III to make this work. Thanks for all the advice.
And I second Ernie's recommendation. The 1.4X works well with several lenses, I wouldn't bother with the 2X. I have had a 1.4X II for several years and my 70-200 f2.8 IS III came with a 1.4X III as part of a promotion; I really can't see any difference between the results from the II and III. As to
Re: Canon Extender 2x and Sigma 150-500 question. I use to have a 150-500 and I know the Kenko DGX 1.4 extender fits it so the kenko 2x should. The Kenko is just as sharp as the Canon in the centre but is a little softer on the edges. Personally I wouldn't bother with a 2x on the 150-500, images were soft enough at 500mm , although under the
Nothing you would be happy with. You would need a third party model like Kenko. You would lose autofocus capability. That zoom isn’t the best image quality to begin with; the extender will degrade it more. John Hoffman. Conway, NH. 1D X Mark III, Many lenses, Pixma PRO-100, Pixma TR8620a, LR Classic.
An integral part of many professional systems, Extender EF 1.4x III maintains high standards not only optically, but also in terms of rugged, dustproof and water resistant construction. This lens is only compatible with fixed focal length L-series lenses 135mm and over, as well as the EF 70-200/2.8L, EF 70-200/2.8L IS, EF 70-200/4L, and EF 100
"Will the Extender EF 2x III work with Canon 90D?" The 90D is designed to work with EF-S lenses. However, no EF-S lenses are compatible with any of the Canon Extenders. This means you will have to limit yourself to EF lenses only. And even that, they are only compatible with specific EF lenses.
A Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS Lens becomes a 600mm f/5.6 IS lens. And, as shown in my Canon EF 2x III Extender review examples above, the Canon EF 180mm f/3.5L USM Macro Lens becomes a 360mm f/7.1 USM Macro Lens. DSLR cameras will continue to calculate auto exposures properly when used with Canon Extenders.
